Lloyds Banking Group journey with T-levels and celebrations

In 2022, Lloyds Banking Group initiated T Level work placements, starting with 6 students and scaling up to 70 placements in 2023, with plans to exceed 100 placements in 2024.

T Levels, equivalent to three A-levels, offer practical skills, valuable experience, and important interpersonal skills through a 45-day industry placement. These placements are not only beneficial for students but also advantageous for employers, providing early access to a talent pipeline and fostering innovation.

Approximately 50% of students who successfully complete a placement at Lloyds Banking Group are offered apprenticeship roles upon T Level qualification completion, establishing a true talent pipeline. This initiative significantly contributes to driving digital skills, particularly as we navigate a significant transformation journey in the coming years. With 60% of students from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, this approach aligns with our diversity agenda, aiming for our workforce to reflect a true version of society.

LBG has hosted a series of apprenticeship celebration events across the country in London, Chester, Bristol, and Edinburgh. These events bring together colleagues who have successfully completed various programs, from Level 2 Customer Services to Level 4 Software Engineering and Level 7 Senior Leaders Apprenticeships.

The events provide an opportunity to celebrate achievements, reflect, and network. Each event is graced by one of our senior leaders, sharing insights on managing careers and personally presenting certificates to each apprentice. The occasions feature inspiring stories shared by some of our apprentices, creating a sense of community and accomplishment.
