Uber-funded graduates celebrate degrees from The Open University
On the auspicious occasion of the inaugural graduation ceremony in London, the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance, of which The Open University is a distinguished patron, extends heartfelt congratulations to The Open University on the commendable collaboration with Uber that has borne fruit.
As of the 22nd of September 2023, we celebrate eleven remarkable individuals across the United Kingdom who stand as pioneers, having completed Open University degrees graciously funded by Uber. This collaboration, initiated in late 2019, has not only marked a significant milestone for these graduates but has also underscored the transformative impact of accessible higher education.
In partnership with Uber, The Open University opened doors to over 1,500 drivers, allowing them to embark on paid OU courses. This visionary initiative has empowered drivers to pursue diverse fields, such as Business, Maths, Law, and Psychology, achieving academic excellence while maintaining the flexibility of their roles within the Uber platform.
“Congratulations to the Uber graduates for completing their Open University courses. I would also like to extend by congratulations to The Open University and Uber for this wonderful partnership. “
