Meet Bev Gough

She is a highly experienced and knowledgeable apprenticeship manager and leader with a demonstrated history of developing and delivering high-quality apprenticeship and employer-responsive provisions in college and independent training provider environments. Beverly has a strong understanding of ESFA funding methodology, compliance, audit, and management information data and reporting systems. She is highly effective in communicating at all levels, with a strong motivation and problem-solving skill set. Beverly’s ethos and approach are based on strong leadership and direction, attention to detail, and developing highly effective teams. She is highly self-motivated and a conscientious individual who prides herself on ensuring that rigorous and timely quality assurance and quality improvement mechanisms are embedded and applied across all provisions.

In her career history, Beverly has led a team managing a sub-contractor provision with a total funding value of £7.5 million, managed Direct Delivery Apprenticeship provision with a total funding value of £9 million, and achieved a 97% compliant audit rate for a national ESF contract in 2018-19. Beverly has built positive relationships with LEPs leading to formal sign off of AEB provision for employers and has vast experience working effectively with a range of awarding bodies. She has made an effective contribution to organizational business strategy and developed rigorous audit and compliance processes to ensure contractual SLAs are met. Additionally, Beverly has developed and implemented learner journey documentation to support the apprenticeship journey.

Beverly is currently the Head of Compliance and Audit at Geason Training, managing a compliance and admin team across two sites, Mansfield and Glasgow. She was tasked with assessing current policies and procedures and implementing solutions to ensure ESFA and prime contractual agreements are maintained and remain compliant. Beverly is responsible for all due-diligence requirements for all prime contracts, contract management, monitoring of performance and contract values. She has designed and implemented staff training to maintain knowledge of funding rules, reporting procedures, and contractual agreements. Beverly has also developed and implemented a robust training and audit plan to ensure all documents, policies, and procedures relating to the learner journey are compliant with ESFA funding rules, OFSTED, and awarding organizations.

Prior to joining Geason Training, Beverly worked for eResponse Group/Workforce Training, where she started as an IQA/Teaching and Learning Support and IQA’d various qualifications, ensuring that standards and quality requirements were met. Beverly moved into the data team and managed and implemented the use of correct management information systems and reported data to Directorate levels. As of November 2015, Beverly was promoted to Compliance/MIS Manager, where she provided effective leadership and management of staff and resources across the area of responsibility to achieve performance objectives, including quality improvement and financial goals. Beverly developed and led exemplary strategies and practices to continually improve all aspects of MIS to ensure a comprehensive range of quality services that meet the needs of the organization. She managed the PIC’s database and provided other performance and resource utilization data, making a key contribution to performance monitoring, effective resource management, people, and quality reviews and self-assessment. Beverly ensured that accurate and timely funding reports and statistical returns were compiled and submitted to funding bodies and partners in the required form and by agreed deadlines.
