Severn Trent proudly participates in Anthropy UK 2023
In an impactful initiative, less than a year ago, Severn Trent embarked on ambitious plans to transform the lives of 100,000 people in the Midlands by addressing unemployment and tackling the root causes of poverty.
Their teams, working in East Birmingham, have partnered with local schools, delivered sessions to over a thousand school children, and actively engaged with the community through events and employability training. Collaborating with organisations like the Trailblazers Mentoring charity, they have provided vital mentoring to young men in prison and hosted the ‘Big Boost for Brum’ jobs fair, welcoming over 300 local job seekers.
With the support of Mayor Andy Street and Harry Brown from The Good Jobs Project, Severn Trent’s CEO Liv Garfield has reached out to Birmingham’s influential businesses, organisations, and leaders. Together, they aim to inspire future opportunities by working towards common goals.
“We’re stronger together, and this is a game-changer for Birmingham.”
Liv Garfield, CEO of Severn Trent
At STEAMhouse in Birmingham, Liv highlighted the exciting next step in their plans, emphasising the importance of collaboration, inclusivity in recruitment practices, and projects that increase reach and impact. Severn Trent’s ambitions in Birmingham involve partnerships to uncover untapped talent, providing placements, skills, and employability opportunities across various sectors and industries.
Severn Trent welcomes support from businesses, organisations, and groups willing to contribute to their ambitious goals.
