Lifetime Training partners with Nando’s
Empowering Diversity: Lifetime Training, a Patron of the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance, Joins Forces with Nando’s for Apprenticeship Journey. Nando’s Continues to Champion Hospitality Careers with New School Leaver Apprenticeship Initiative.
In a collaborative effort, Lifetime Training, a proud Patron of the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance, has forged a strategic partnership with Nando’s, marking a pivotal step in nurturing apprenticeships. Nando’s unwavering dedication to fostering opportunities in the hospitality sector is exemplified through the launch of its School Leaver Apprenticeship Programme.
This innovative initiative benefits school leavers and young individuals aged 16 and above. It will provide level 2 apprenticeships at over 200 Nando’s restaurants scattered across every region of England.
Under the guidance of Lifetime Training, the 15-month syllabus for the England Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship is designed to encompass crucial facets such as customer service, team leadership, and personal growth. Apprentices will gain valuable insights by learning alongside seasoned Nando’s team members within the restaurant setting.
An integral component of Nando’s comprehensive apprenticeship ecosystem, this initiative is seamlessly integrated into the ‘Varsity’ Apprenticeship program, initially established in 2017. This framework spans apprenticeship levels 2 to 5, encompassing a holistic approach that combines on-the-job training, independent study, face-to-face coaching, and immersive learning experiences. This blend ensures that apprentices are well-equipped with industry-specific knowledge and skills, setting the stage for a thriving career within the sector.
Apprentices embarking on this journey will enjoy remuneration on par with full-time Nando’s team members and be entitled to an enticing benefits package. This package includes complimentary meals during shifts, an impressive up to 40% discount, extendable to five guests, and a paid sabbatical opportunity upon completing five years of dedicated service.
Claire Smith, the Head of People at Nando’s, underscores the pivotal role of people in Nando’s success story. She expresses the organization’s fervent commitment to paving the way for young individuals to step into the world of work, creating a foundation for a prosperous career within the vibrant hospitality sector. The School Leaver Apprenticeship Programme serves as a manifestation of this commitment, acting as a catalyst in shaping clear career trajectories within the industry. Nando’s ambitious vision aims to cultivate a remarkable 70% of its managerial force from within its own ranks, further solidifying its status as a leader in fostering growth and opportunity.”
