Nail Technician & Beauty Therapist Training

Beauty professionals provide a variety of treatments to help clients look and feel better.

Nail technicians repair, paint and decorate clients’ nails.

In your day-to-day work you may

  • do treatments, like manicures and pedicures
  • clean and file nails
  • apply false nails or extensions
  • decorate nails with coloured varnish, transfers, gems or glitter
  • repair, look after and remove false nails and extensions
  • check for any signs of skin or nail problems before treatment
  • store chemicals correctly and safely and follow strict hygiene rules

Beauty therapists provide face and body treatments to help clients look and feel better.

In your day-to-day work you may

  • give a facial by cleansing, massaging and toning a client’s skin
  • do a makeover by applying and advising on make-up
  • shape eyebrows and colour eyelashes
  • give a manicure, pedicure or other nail treatment like extensions and nail art
  • remove unwanted facial and body hair
  • do non-surgical skin improvement treatments
  • offer ultraviolet (UV) treatments and spray tanning

£ 15000

Flexible working hours, typicaly working between 35 to 39 hours:

  • including evenings / weekends flexibly
  • as customers demand

How to be come a Beauty Professional

It isn’t a requirement to qualify; however, it will be very desirable to employers. Studying beauty related course will undoubtedly help you stand out against other candidates, particularly if you qualify for a specialist service or treatment. In addition, if you take a qualification, it will improve your chances of landing a job in a high-end salon or spa.

  • You will also need to have gained professional insurance to carry out your services legally to clients.

  • These courses will give you a solid basis for both the business side and critical skills. In addition, there’s the option to add on practical training, meaning you can put your skills to the test.
