More support for businesses and workers has recently been announced.
- Increased grants for small businesses to £10,000
- Increased COVID19 business interruption loans to £5m and 12 month business rates holiday for all retail, hospitality and leisure businesses in England
ACAS: Advice for Employers
Employers should consider some simple steps to help protect the health and safety of everyone during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS)
CBILS supports a wide range of business finance products, including term loans, overdrafts, invoice finance and asset finance.
The scheme provides the lender with a government-backed guarantee potentially enabling a ‘no’ credit decision from a lender to become a ‘yes’. The borrower always remains 100% liable for the debt.
Cash Grants for Retail, Hospitality and Leisure
If your business is in the retail, hospitality or leisure sector, you may receive a cash grant of up to £25,000 per property.
Income Tax Deferral for the Self-Employed
The Self-employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) will support self-employed individuals (including members of partnerships) whose income has been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
The scheme will provide a grant to self-employed individuals or partnerships, worth 80% of their profits up to a cap of £2,500 per month.
Business Rates Holiday for Retail, Hospitality & Leisure
Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors in England will not have to pay business rates for the 2020-21 tax year.
Businesses that received the retail discount in the 2019-20 tax year will be rebilled by their local authority as soon as possible.
