Record breaking year for the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards

In what can only be described as a triumphant feat, the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards have achieved unprecedented success in the past year, marking a milestone in their journey to recognise and honour exceptional talent within the realm of apprenticeships. The event, which drew attention from all corners, boasted a remarkable year of accomplishments, setting new records and garnering attention for its sold-out tickets and an astounding 400+ nominations.

The excitement and anticipation reached a crescendo earlier this month as the apprenticeship community came together to celebrate at a networking event hosted by the illustrious partner, Pearson. The gathering, a testament to the growing importance of fostering diversity and inclusion within professional development, saw the convergence of past winning apprentices, esteemed employers, dedicated learning providers, and ardent supporters.

Setting the tone for the evening, Anne Ashworth, Head of Employee Apprentices at Pearson, welcomed the diverse audience with her inspiring words. She acknowledged the essence of the event, emphasising that the night would be a tribute to the exceptional achievements of multicultural apprentices, the unwavering support of their employers, and the pivotal role played by learning providers in their growth. Anne Ashworth underscored how the alignment of values between Pearson and the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards resonated perfectly, as both entities share a common mission to empower learners and pave the way for enriched futures.

The event further ignited insightful conversations, with a panel discussion expertly hosted by Kasim Choudhry. The panel featured the voices of 2022 winning apprentices, Aiman Naseer from Lloyds Banking Group and Umayr Tanveer from BT Group. These accomplished individuals shared their valuable insights, shedding light on how organisations can bolster their apprenticeship programmes and attract the finest future talents. Their stories served as a beacon of motivation, igniting the passion to pave the way for aspiring apprentices.

Culminating the evening’s festivities, Pearson was bestowed with a prestigious “We Invest in Apprentices” plaque. This honour came on the heels of Pearson’s recent achievement of a platinum employer accreditation from Investors in People, a resounding testament to their unwavering commitment to the growth and development of apprentices. The entire Pearson team stood tall in the face of this recognition, a true testament to their dedication and perseverance.
