Join us and celebrate Social Mobility Awareness Day and Global Inclusion Week with our insightful webinar on socially mobilising hidden talent among economically inactive people.

The Pathway Group is delighted to recap the enriching experiences from the webinar Unearthing Potential: Empowering Hidden Talent. This impactful event, celebrating Social Mobility Awareness Day, Global Inclusion Week, and Carers Week, cast a spotlight on the hidden potential among economically inactive populations and underscored the pivotal role of inclusivity in fostering social mobility.

Martin Chandler, Chief Engagement & Enrichment Officer at Pathway Group provided an overview framework on the significance of these themed days and encouraging proactive conversations on social mobility and inclusion.

Amit Kalley, Co-Founder of Working Parents, shared his emotional and inspiring personal story. From his humble beginnings in East London to facing personal tragedies, including his mother’s battle with cancer and his daughter’s critical illness, Amit illustrated the resilience required to balance life’s challenges with professional commitments. His presentation from the webinar, which highlighted the programs offered by ‘For Working Parents,’ aimed at empowering parents in the workplace, truly captivated the audience.

Daisy Falconer, accompanied by Jahnavi, a young carer from Coventry, vividly detailed the challenges young carers face daily. Daisy, Young Carers Programme Manager at Carers Trust, provided an overview of the services offered to young and adult carers, emphasizing the unique pressures they endure and the high rate of educational disruption among this group. The discussion included potent insights into the skills these young carers develop, such as crisis management, empathy, and effective communication, which are invaluable yet often overlooked in professional environments.

The webinar concluded with Jazz Singh, who spoke candidly about his journey through addiction and turmoil to a place where he now champions others through his initiative, EmpowerAbility. His story is a testament to the transformative power of support systems and self-belief in overcoming life’s obstacles.
