The Youth Guarantee is a government initiative to ensure young people aged 16–24 have access to jobs, training, apprenticeships, and employment support to move into sustained work or learning. It forms part of the Government’s broader plan to tackle youth unemployment and inactivity.
Youth Hubs and Support Services – CV help, careers coaching, wrap-around support.
Work Experience & Training Opportunities – sector placements in areas like construction, social care, hospitality, health.
Guaranteed Job Interviews – for eligible youth following training or placement.
The Jobs Guarantee – Paid Work Placements
A central part of the Youth Guarantee providing fully subsidised six-month paid jobs for young people aged 18–21 who have been seeking work while on Universal Credit for 18+ months.
Government covers 100% of employment costs for 25 hrs/week at minimum wage.
Participants receive wrap-around support and training while in work.
The programme rolls out nationally across Great Britain during 2026.
