The Institute of Employability Professionals joins the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance

IEP join the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance

IEP is delighted to become the latest Patron of the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance.
Formerly the BAME Apprenticeship Alliance, the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance is part of The Pathway Group, and its purpose is to promote Social Mobility and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) through apprenticeships and employability.

The Alliance is formed of corporate partners, of which there are currently 19, and includes some of the world’s biggest and most well-known brands, including Coca-Cola, Bentley, The Co-operative Society, The Open University and the NHS.

The Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance is effectively a movement that we are building to encourage thought-leaders to come together to discuss issues around multi-culturalism and the equity of opportunity for marginalised communities. There is an issue with a lack of information and education around apprenticeships and employability in multicultural communities as an alternative option to higher education and a pathway to a successful career.

We aim to be the go-to organisation for information, thoughts, views and opinions on multicultural apprenticeships and to promote apprenticeship and employability opportunities in multicultural communities.

As a Fellow of the IEP, together with my Pathway Group colleagues Safaraz Ali FIEP and Ahsan Husain FIEP and as a Corporate Affiliate Partner of the IEP too we recognise the important platform the IEP has in championing employability and supporting those who work in the sector so that they can support others to the best of their ability. Having the IEP on board as one of our Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance Patrons will help us raise awareness of what we stand for and what we are looking to achieve so that we can help to encourage the take-up of apprenticeships to this group of people and strengthen and improve their learning outcomes.

Scott Parkin IEP

The IEP are pleased to be part of this important alliance to help support social mobility, ED&I and equity of opportunity for the multicultural community.

We believe strongly in creating and promoting equal opportunities for all.

There is talent everywhere, but opportunity is not always readily available or accessible to everyone. The futures, possibilities and outcomes for people should not be determined by their background or the community they belong to.

In becoming a Patron, we are showing our commitment to helping the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance achieve their mission to prepare and connect underrepresented talent to high-quality apprenticeships and build workplaces that promote diversity.

Scott Parkin, FIEP, Chief Executive of the IEP
