Harm Linked to Faith or Belief

When Belief Causes Harm

Some people face harmful practices in the name of faith—forced marriage, exorcism, honour-based violence, or restrictions on education and choice. These issues are complex and culturally sensitive but must never be ignored.

What You Can Do:

  • Engage local community and faith leaders in safeguarding work.

  • Create safe spaces where people can speak up.

  • Be aware of cultural contexts—but always act in the person’s best interest.
