Celebrating Talent and Diversity: BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2021 came back again as a LIVE event

On Thursday 30th September 2021, over 530 people, employers, apprentices, and many from the FE and Skills sector once again came together in Birmingham to recognise and celebrate BAME Apprentices’ talent, aiming to close the diversity gap in apprenticeships.

Initially titled the Asian Apprenticeship Awards, founded in 2016 by Safaraz Ali, and since 2020 have rebranded as the BAME Apprenticeship Awards.

The awards’ vision is to showcase the outstanding work and achievement of apprentices from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic groups to inspire BAME talent to reach their full potential. In addition, the Awards purpose is to provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the employers and training providers across the UK who are leading the way in championing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

The BAME Apprentice Network operates the BAME Apprentice Awards.

The initiative aims to continue robustly promoting the landscape of DEI within apprenticeships and have launched a Pledge and support employers and learning providers with practical steps to become more Diverse, Equal, and Inclusive.

Huge congratulations yet again to all the participants, the nominees, and winners for taking part in these awards and to all the sponsors and partners for making these awards happen.
