Pathway Group continues to transform the community in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent

Located in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent’s Potteries, the Pathway Groups SkillsZone centre is on Duncalf Street. Since opening, it has served over 1,000 locals and supported over 500 of them to enhance their knowledge and develop skills.

Due to the ongoing increase in support and services from local people and partners, Pathway Group has completed numerous projects to improve its energy efficiency, ventilation, increase its covid safe classroom capacity and introduce improved job searching facilities.

As part of the investments into the Centre, two training rooms have been transformed into boutique themed training environments to provide an authentic salon learning experience whilst enhancing the facilities and equipment. This has been welcomed by the Centre’s aspiring Nail Technicians and Beauty Therapists – Daesha, Alana, Melissa, Tammy, Jodie and Siobhan.

Pathway Group’s home on Duncalf Street was originally the local Job Centre but underwent significant redevelopment in 2019 after falling into disrepair before being reopened to the public in August 2019 by Carol Shanahan, owner of Port Vale F.C.

The improved facilities have been complemented with a selection of new and enhanced services for customers, including careers information, advice and guidance and access to Employment Advisors and job searching facilities.
