Mental Health Awareness Week

9th-15th May 2022 – Together we can tackle loneliness

One in four adults feel lonely some or all of the time. There’s no single cause and there’s no one solution. After all, we’re all different! But, the longer we feel lonely, the more we are at risk of mental health problems. Some people are also at higher risk of feeling lonely than others.

For Mental Health Awareness Week this year, we’re raising awareness of the impact of loneliness on our mental health and the practical steps we can take to address it.

Dealing with loneliness can be difficult. But there are things we can all do to cope with loneliness and prevent some of the negative feelings and mental health problems that can come with it.

Our Functional Skills learners have been discussing Mental Health and finding out more about conditions to help improve their awareness.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for an excellent tutorial.

I have attended many tutorials and presentations, especially in the Mental Health sector, and this particular one stands above the rest.

At the outset of the course, I noticed one particular student with very little confidence; however, after completing the course, I saw how much their confidence and self-esteem had grown.

I believe this was mainly down to how you presented it. This course makes the way you look at yourself and others different by picking out your strengths and weaknesses and team-building skills.

Once again, thank you for the time you have spent and the hard work you put into making this course a great success.

I would like to wish you all the best for the future.
