Apprenticeships have changed and are continuing to evolve into the education route of choice for school leavers.  No longer is university or college the only or preferred option and apprenticeships are now a key route into a successful career.

Apprenticeships are available in a huge range of areas and are no longer just for engineering or manual occupations.  There are choices in service sector organisations in roles such as Business Administration, Management and Healthcare.

Here at Pathway, we are a leading provider of Apprenticeships and work with approved partner employers to ensure apprentices are given the high quality training and assessment in order to achieve their apprenticeship, and begin their career path to unlock the potential.

Benefits

There are enormous benefits for a young person to start their career on the apprenticeship path.  Research has shown that individuals completing a higher level apprenticeship could see their career earnings increase by an estimated £150,000 over their working lifetime.

As an apprentice, there are other benefits too such as discounts with major business’ through the NUS scheme.

  • A salary and paid holiday
  • Progression opportunities
  • Increased earning potential

Salaries

An apprentice will hold a contract of employment with one of our partner employers and will earn at least the National Minimum Wage for apprentices which currently stands at £3.50 per hour, however many of our employers pay much more than this and some on higher apprenticeships can earn up to £500 per week.

School Leaving

The government has stated that young people must stay in education or training until their 18th birthday.  Joining an apprenticeship programme is part of this and gives young people further options rather than college, sixth form or university.
